How to wear sequins this season...

A blast from the past is back... and in a big way this season.  Sequins are popping up everywhere!  On shoes, on bags, on tops, on pants... yes, i do mean EVERYWHERE!  I personally have never been a really big fan of sequins, but I must admit I have found a few pieces I really do like and could actually see myself wearing.  Sporting sequins is definitely one of those things you have to pull off just right or you run the risk of looking like an 80's poster child fashion reject, so here is some simple advice on how to wear sequins this season.  Some of the best advice to remember when attempting to wear sequins is to just keep it simple.  Sequins generally draw enough attention on their own without the need to add a lot of accessories, bold color, or any patterns that would be competing for attention.  Also, choosing the sequins you wear are very important.  The size of the sequins and the color you choose can also be a factor in how you should wear your piece.  Sequins should generally always be worn with solid colors to help detract some of the attention away from the flashiness.  A simple solid color such as black always works best. and you can never go wrong dressing casually with a basic pair of jeans and a clutch.

All the items featured above are available at the ever so addicting ASOS.

It's like candy for my fashion sweet tooth.

Below are a few of my favorite picks from various other retailers.

So this morning on Twitter I had the pleasure of conversing with the lovely ladies @krissy90220 from www.krissy90220.com (who's here on OnSugar) and @beautythesis who's blog is at www.beautythesis.net (a great one for MAC lovers) and we were on the topic of Black Hair Care forums, specifically those that have good information on Natural Hair Care.  Between the three of us we came up with a list of three forums that provide a wealth of information that can help those of you on the search for answers about your hair.  There are countless tips, product suggestions, and things of the like listed on these forums and I'm sure between the three of them, you will be able to find all the information you may need on any range of topics and more.  If you know of any other hair forums that are beneficial and are not listed here, please feel free to list them in the comments section and I will gladly add them to the post.  Remember caring is sharing!  Let's promote healthy hair and growth by informing each other on what we know... not by being critical of those who don't.  :)

Black Hair Care/Natural Hair Care Forums

Long Hair Care Forum

Long Hair Care Forum, known as LHCF is the largest Black Hair Care Forum. There you will find women who are both relaxed and natural who are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to hair.  A membership is $6.50 a year, but of course you can search the hair forum for free.  But you will be unable to post and create threads or have access to some of the other areas if you're not a paid member. This forum is very active with sections discussing Hair Care Tips, Product Reviews, and Children’s Hair Care. Your subscription also pays for you to have your own online hair album, blog, and access to a huge product review database.

Black Hair Media Forum

Black Hair Media is a free forum that is not as active as LHCF but you can still find a wealth of information about hair here.  This is an excellent site if you have questions about lace front wigs and weaves.  The site is easy to navigate and really laid back.

Nappturality

Nappturality is a forum created to help women of color embrace their natural hair. This is a natural hair site and a natural hair care site only.  Discussion of relaxers or any form of hair straightening on this hair forum is not allowed.  There is a ton of information and support here that will help you on your natural journey that will help you take care of your hair.   The women post tons of pictures here of natural hairstyles including comb coils, two strand twists, and locs which is wonderful inspiration.

I hope this short list helps some of you and again, if you have any forums you'd like to add just leave the link in the comments section and I  will be than happy to add it.
